Cuisinart DLC-5 7-Cup Capacity Food Processor, White
Cuisinart; | Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker
Zojirushi; |
Cuisinart DLC-5 7-Cup Capacity Food Processor, WhiteWith its 7-cup work bowl, 600 watts of power, and slicing and shredding discs, this food processor is ideal for most households. It kneads 1-1/2 pounds of bread or pastry dough, chops 1 pound of meat, emulsifies a perfect mayonnaise or salad dressing, and chops, slices, or shreds vegetables, nuts, cheese, and bread crumbs. The plastic work bowl is shatterproof and resists both heat and cold. A single fingertip control turns the processor on and off and pulses for precise work. All parts go safely into the dishwasher. With work bowl in place, the processor measures 7 by 12-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches. It carries a five-year warranty against motor defects and a three-year warranty against other defects. --Fred Brack

Customer Review:A perfect size and a great machine for a family of four I am using it for around 2 months and I am happy with its performance. I uses it for Indian food like dough, chilli/onion,garlic paste, crushing the spinach,curliflower, coconut, carrots , salad etc
Pros:
It plastic is sturdy.
It is easy to clean.
Its sound level is normal.
Cons
The slicer comes with it is little thin. They sells 1/4 inch slicer seperately (in $20)
It is heavy, It sticks with counter so well you need to apply lot of power to move it.
It is not worth to take one star out for these.
Make sure you will add water gradually until dough stops sticking the walls and then let it run for 30 seconds. It will stick all to the walls if more water is added at this stage. Also don't try to add more flour to compansate more water, it will make a big mess.
This "classic" isn't worth itNo doubt, you might be intrigued by the relative savings offered on this model compared to other processors - including the more modern-looking Cuisinarts. Well, there is, as they say, a reason for everything.
I have used both a small older Mini-Prep as well as the DLC-2007 (the futuristic one). Both were awesome - they blended thoroughly and RARELY leaked (only when it was my fault and I filled the suckers full of liquid.
Anyhow, they passed the "how much do I get for my money" test with flying colors. This machine does not.
Each time I have used this thing - be it for cooked vegetables, salsa or pesto, the freaker leaked from the well. Unlike the other two Cuisinarts I mentioned - which were the older sister and the same-age sister, respectively, to this model - this one has a blade that fits LOOSELY on its inner assembly. Thus, whatever you are blending works its way up right out of the cylinder and into the well, from which it drips everywhere. The counter, the machine, the bowl.
I mean it - do not buy this model. It really sucks. You may save money, but you won't save time or headaches. Good product, easy to clean, Product is easy to clean. This is the first food processor I have owned so I do not have much to compare it to. My only complaint is that when I made a soup that needed to be pureed, the soup went everywhere. The food processor leaked from the bottom before even turning on the machine. I have made a variety of other dishes in this with no problem such as hummus, salsa, etc. Keywords: Electrics; Full-Size Food Processors; (Foodprocessors); Small Appliances;

Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee MakerLots of folks dislike the burnt flavor that coffee gets when it sits in a glass pot over a heating element. To avoid this, coffee shops often brew right into large thermal pots to keep the coffee warm without it becoming overcooked. The Zojirushi Fresh Brew does that, too, but in home-sized batches. It looks great, too, with a glossy black body and stainless steel carafe and brew basket. To brew, lift the lid and swing the water outlet spout to one side while the filter is being loaded; the spout will return to its proper position when the lid is closed. A small red ball in the water gauge makes it extra simple to read. And an electronic clock module also serves as a timer that will start the brewer at a specified time. The carafe's lid is designed to be on during brewing, with a small cap to help keep the heat in after it's ready. The Fresh Brew also has a pause-and-serve function that stops the flow for 30 seconds while a cup of coffee is served. To clean the brewer unit, use a solution of white vinegar and water, following the instructions in the accompanying booklet. The unit is not immersible. The exterior can be wiped with a damp soft rag; do not use abrasives or scouring pads. The filter reservoir is removable; clean with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. The coffee brewer measures 15 by 12 by 9 inches (includes carafe handle when unit is completely assembled), and it uses #3 cone-shaped disposable paper filters. The Fresh Brew comes with a detailed instruction booklet. Zojirushi guarantees its products with a one-year limited warranty. --Garland Withers

Customer Review:pretty good, but...When I received product, it immediately had a severe leak out of the water quantity display piece. Not a drop here or there, but a steady stream. I had to put silicone on it to use it. After that, I am happy with it. It brews good coffee, fast. I live in a solar house, so I like that there is no hotpot for the coffee to sit on. The thermal carafe really does keep the coffee hot for 3-4 hours. It is tough getting used to the pour spout as it seems to dribble out. But I can live with that. So watch quality, other than that, it does its job and even looks good on the counter! At this price range, the best value for your moneyWe purchased the EC-BD15 (similar to EC-DB15BA in all details) after analysing other products, and had it for about 7 months. Next in line were a Capresso, Braun and Cuisinart coffee makers. But you're talking to someone who's had for 12 years a stovetop Bialetti 6-cup stainless steel espresso maker; so, not quite interested in gadgets about making coffee, because in the end, it's the coffee that counts. And the EC-BD15 does its job well, indeed.
I was introduced to Zojirushi in Japan, through rice cookers and vacuum bottle containers they make. As many japanese products, the Zojirushis are built with quality in mind, and do not want the shame of making a shoddy product.
KISS - keep it simple and stupid. Hence, few controls on the way to make the coffee: Pour water, place a #4 filter, put coffee, press ON. Wait for the beast to brew coffee (yes, the sounds the coffee maker does might surprise at first, but it's now accepted , and we look forward to it!), and enjoy. As far as not burning the taste, it goes with the vacuum bottle construction. And, yes, it will keep the coffee warm long enough so you can have friends over, brew coffee as you serve dinner and enjoy it, without having to break from the table midway to make coffee for dessert. The stainless steel carafe might need clean up from time to time, but it's like any stainless steel appliance. Its design is also timeless. Th EC-BD15 indicates it's a 10 cup, but I currently use 2 cups / american cup (or mug), so it's more likely you'll pull 5 cups out of a full load. A travel mug... well, you get the picture.
But make no other assumption: any cup of coffee will degrade in time (pity!) and it's only the sum of good ingredients - freshly ground coffee beans and good water. This machine will merely make the best of it!
PS. Read other reviews as well! "Uses #4 filters; automatic mode, ..." Some great reviews in there, good and bad. Excellent CoffeemakerAfter doing a lot of research I purchased this coffeeemaker. I am very happy with it. Finally a coffeemaker that I can program at night and not have to worry about finding coffee all over my counter the next morning. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours. I did find a permanent filter that fits perfectly - Krups 049-33. This works so much better than the paper filters. Presto 04821 Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper
Presto; | Proctor-Silex 22450 Cool-Touch 2-Slice Toaster, White
Proctor-Silex; |
Presto 04821 Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn PopperPlug in the Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper and the party begins. In less than 2-1/2 minutes youll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. Thats not to say you cant add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesnt fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn into a bowl. The popper measures 14 by 9 by 6-1/2 inches, and is identical to Prestos PopLite Hot Air Corn Popper except for color and logo. Presto covers the popper with a two-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

Customer Review:Pops quickly and wellI replaced my airpop popper of 14(!) years with the Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper. I have had it only one month but I find it pops popcorn quickly (quicker than my former one which I loved) and the popcorn tastes great. Dangerous to use, poorly designed.Why on earth is there no on/off switch on this thing? You turn it on and off by pulling the ungrounded plug out of the outlet.
In my case, it came with sparks and flames.
I'm throwing this thing out and using a pot with oil on the stovetop from now on. This product is poorly designed and actually dangerous to use...I can't believe all the rave reviews, but maybe they just like to live dangerously. Make a snack that's quick, healthy, tasty and CHEAP!In an attempt to eat healthier, we're trying to give up trans-fats at our house. Microwave popcorn is loaded with these things. But the air popped corn is great - tasty, fast, and since I add my own butter or healthier toppings, I control what's in my popcorn. My kids love watching it. What really surprised me was how inexpensive a bag of popcorn kernels was - so much less than microwave popcorn! And this takes no more time. I love our hot air popcorn popper - we don't have family movie night without it!

Customer Review:Great toaster - very inexpensiveTHIS TOASTER DOES ALL IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY. I AM ALSO VERY PLEASED WITH THE PRICE AND SERVICE. Toaster ReviewOverall the toaster is very satisfactory. My only adverse reaction is that the size of the bread slice is limited, for example, sliced home-baked type loaves are irregular in size and sometimess get stuck in the toaster. While I was trying to dislodge a slice, I burned my finger on the surface designated as HOT (I should have been more careful, but my goal was to retrieve my toast.). A toaster for all seasonsThere I was-looking for a good toaster. And then after searching through a list of many possibilities, the Proctor-Silex 22450 Cool-Touch 2-Slice Toaster popped up. Could there be a great toaster with such a low price tag? Answer: an enthusiastic yes! In the beginning, I had my doubts. What about the expensive toasters? What did they have that the Proctor-Silex 22450 did not possess? The reviews showed that other toasters had a history of short comings, but the Proctor-Silex 22450 had nothing but shining reviews. Two wide openings for whatever bread you want to toast; a reliable dial helping you to gauge the 'brownness' of the toast; a small footprint on the kitchen counter; the lowest price tag in kitchen appliance history! Here is a winner! Keywords: Small Appliances; Electrics; Toasters;
