KitchenAid's stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 250 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. Never received Amazon gift card!!

I participated in a promotion where I was supposed to receive a $20 Amazon gift card if I purchased this mixer. I never received the gift card, and I have sent several emails to Amazon asking for my gift card. Has anyone else had this problem? The mixer is great, but I feel Amazon has not held up their end of the promotion, and they are ignoring all of my attemtpts to correct the issue.

a tight fit

I use this machine mainly for making homeade ice cream. The only complaint I have about this product is that it is very hard to add ingredients into the mixer once it starts. The bowls that come with the product give you very little room to add the required ingredients. I constantly spill vanilla extract on the counter top and man does that t me off! But overall a very solid selection of a mixer.

Good machine...everybody says so.....must be so!

I use mine once or twice a week. Makes baking easier. Its currently a very good price.

To a recent poster who is unhappy with Amazon. I don't know your specifics but my experience in buying many products has been excellent.
I have not had much contact with the Customer group as all my purchases have been without problems.

A great buy!!

My only concern about purchasing this saucepan was that it was shallow. Then I received mine. I love it. It is perfect for everyday use. I now do not have spill overs when making things like rice or when boiling potatoes. I highly recommend this item. I now have bought 2!!

a good buy

i bought this pot a month ago and have been cooking all my meals in it. it is easy to clean and required very little oil. food cooks really wel and the shape of the vessel is perfect as it avoids any overflows.

i would recommend this pot to anyone who is interested in calphalon products. when i received the lid there was a slight dent in it but i called calphalon customer service and they very promptly send me a replacement lid at no extra charge.

A quality saucepan, solid, attractive, works well.

I bought this shallow saucepan and it works rather well. It has a quality feel, very solid and sturdy, and is attractive too! The nonstick is good quality and food cooks more quickly because the pan has more surface area. I use this pan for soups mainly. A little heavy, but isn't every quality pan heavy? Looks attractive and I got a great price, less than it is now. All in all, a great deal! Much better deal than I could have gotten in the store, that's for sure!!

Senseo Dark Roast

We have a lot of heavy coffee drinkers who appreciate very strong coffee. Senseo Dark Roast satisfies them and gives them the richness and boldness of very fine coffee.

We really enjoy the dark roast of these coffee pods, however, the only drawback is you always have to use 2 pods because one does not make enough coffee so in that respect they need to make larger bags of pods as they do go pretty fast and are quite expensive.

great for the occassional baker

If you're like me and only bake occassionally, get this mixer instead of the expensive stand. I've made brownies, cakes and cookies all with simple ease.
This is also a great starter product and great way to tell if you're ready for the $150 upgrade to the stand.
I actually bought the 7-spd, but feel you don't really need the extra two speeds. Either one, it's a great light weight tool, which says a lot being one with whimpy arms.

It has easy to clean beaters and the shell just takes a few wipes to clean as well.

Point of Clarification...

The mixer reviewed by Cook's Illustrated, (See 'Oh My Gosh' below.) was the 7-speed KHM7T and did receive the highest marks (and also was the most expensive). This mixer was not reviewed.

NOT made in USA as Tech Data says

I'm not happy. The Amazon "Technical Data" section currently states "Country of manufacture: USA" but on the box it says "Made in China"! I go out of my way to purchase items that are made in the USA and to avoid things that are made in China. It is important to me. It's hard enough to find things (in many categories) that are are not made in China. I definitely don't appreciate being misled. Come on Amazon!

Now ... regarding the mixer itself ... we just received it and have only used it once so it's a bit early to give it a meaningful rating. However, we definitely noticed two points that many others have mentioned. It is very quiet but it is not as fast as many other mixers. My wife doesn't seem too concerned about the speed so I guess it's not a major issue but definitely noticable.
